Fitness Journey: Lakiesha LuvJoi32 Coxson Louisville, Kentucky

First, Last name: Lakiesha Coxson

Age: 41

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

How often do you work out? I workout 6 to 7 days a week. During the week I aim for about an hour and a half workout. The weekend 2 to 3 hrs.

What type of works do you do and what are your daily routine? I alternate arm and back workouts with leg and abs. I do mostly weight work but on weekends I for 45mins on the treadmill before my weight work.

Which gyms do you go to? Do a lot of at home working out during the week before work. But on weekends I utilize planet fitness.

What does your diet consist of? I do a lot of meal prepping but I don’t weigh my food or do clean eating. I try controlling my portions as well as limiting my meat intake.

Why did you start your fitness Journey? I work up one morning and I was 170lbs. That on a 5’3 frame isn’t nice on the knees. I wear scrubs all day at work so it was easy to loose track. That was when I decided to do a whole life style change.

What were your goals? Since this is more of a lifestyle change for me I don’t have a scale goal other than keeping my BMI under 25. Being a black woman, that whole height to weight ratio at the doctor’s office has never fit for me. I’m not going to stress myself for the unrealistic goal.

Do you have any tattoos? Yes

If so how many? I have a total of 18 pieces. I have a majority of my body covered.

How old were you when you got your first tattoo? I was 18 when I got my first tattoo. It was tiger lily. I was 3 months into my military obligation. It was a pick it of the wall by number piece.

What is your least favorite tattoo and why? My least favorite tattoo is my tramp stamp of a tribal band and ankh. It was my second tattoo in the military. It’s my least favorite because it looks so basic compared to my other tattoos.

What is your favorite tattoo? My favorite tattoo is my Punisher/Pam Grier piece on my inner left calf done by Derrick Verley (dtatstar). It’s just all the way around kickass. I love it because it emulates my idea of a badass black woman pinup.
